Power Washing.

Serving Virginia, Washington D.C. and Maryland

Wash away years of dust and grime.

Power washing is an essential part of home maintenance. It doesn’t matter how much you sweep your walkway, or even use a regular hose, nothing can clean the exterior of your home like power washing. This is when a very concentrated, high-pressure stream of water is used to spray off dirt, mildew, cobwebs, strains, bird droppings, and more. This not only helps your home look like new, but it prevents damage caused by buildup.

Outside of simply cleansing your home, power washing is used to prep the outside before painting. You can’t paint on a surface covered in dirt and mildew, and pressure washing is the best way to clean large areas, fast.

Surfaces that can be power washed include:

  • Bricks

  • Wood

  • Aluminum

  • Concrete

  • Asphalt

Power washing isn’t just for your home’s exterior, but can be done on driveways, walkways, decks, and porches.

When should you power wash your home?

There are two reasons to power wash your home: 1) in preparation of painting, and 2) as part of its normal cleaning and maintenance routine. If you are about to paint, you should always power wash your home first. This is something we at Cordova always do to ensure a clean, smooth finish.

When it comes to your home’s routine maintenance, we suggest you power wash one to two times a year (so every 6 to 12 months). By power washing regularly, you can avoid issues caused by buildup of mold or mildew, and keep your home healthy.
